Sorry we haven’t posted more this week. But when your choices are the beach or the computer, well the beach wins for us most of the time.
Anyway, we did have some time to surf ye ole internet and we found this little diddy.
The video part of this “music video” is a bit lacking, but the song itself is a real treat.
As the chorus says: “If Jesus was on Facebook would you add Him as your friend?”
Well?? Would you?!?!
We’ve all heard about charlatan miracle workers supposedly curing cancer, restoring someone’s ability to walk, or even raising the dead.
But this guy doesn’t even bother trying to be amazing.
He heals toothaches.
Huh?
There are few things we here at The American Jesus hate more than the so-called “prosperity gospel.”
However, when you package that load of garbage like this, we just have to laugh.
In honor of the finale Harry Potter movie, we bring you this reminder that reading the Harry Potter books leads to witchcraft, alcoholism, drug abuse, and sexual licentiousness.
In fairness to the girl giving her testimony, I completely agree that we DRASTICALLY underestimate the influence of the media we consume.
That being said, does anyone know a spell I could cast to make sure tickets aren’t sold out for the 3:30pm showing tomorrow at the theater down the street from my house?
The lesson here is: don’t assume you know where everyone stands on every issue.
In this video, Pastor Steven Anderson supports illegal immigrants, citing the Bible as it says to care for the stranger and the foreigner.
Best part: “Turn off your stupid Sean Hannity, and your stupid Rush Limbaugh, and your Glen Beck, and all your conservative right-wing radio… and why don’t you get in the Bible!!!”
The video quality on this one isn’t top notch (it’s camera recording a TV), but the commercial itself is pretty amusing…..and confusing.

Apparently this video was released to coincide with their new song “Love It or Leave It,” which you can listen to here.
So I just watched this video over at JesusNeedsNewPR and Christian Nightmares about a “preacher” named John Crowder and was really confused. Some kind of super bizarre “communion service” or something. Check it out if you haven’t already.
Anyway, it got me curious: “Who the heck is John Crower?”
So, I turned to the old, reliable Google and what I found made me even more confused.
Instead of reposting a bunch of the bizarro, non-sensical, and non-Christian garbage he’s peddling, I thought I’d share this fascinating segment that Current TV did on him a little while back.
It does a great job of giving you an idea about what this clown is about (as much as that is possible). It’s about 25 min long, but it is absolutely fascinating.
What may be even more unbelievable than this guy’s “approach to the faith”, is the fact that LOTS of people are actually buying in to what he’s saying.
At one point a woman says “What I love about John is, I just see a guy who isn’t divorced from the God he’s talking about. He seems to be living it.”
Well, if that is Christianity, then I’ll be the first to renounce my faith.
