Jack Chick has pretty much laid down the gauntlet in his latest tract, “Still No Revival?”
If you are new to our site and haven’t had the benefit of reading dozens of examples of Jack’s best work, this tract pretty much sums up why he’s so unhappy with the church today. He covers everything from Catholocism to Islam to “the gays.” It’s pretty much Jack Chick’s opus magnum, and we are honored to give it a home at American Jesus.
For every intelligent Christian who can hold an academic discussion about the purpose of Biblical narratives, there seems to be a hundred idiots like this one.
Stupid yet Arrogant Christians: Making us look like idiots since the Enlightenment…
At least that seems to be the theology of Tim Conway, apparent buddy of Paul Washer.
When you get two great minds like that together, rip a verse out of the Bible, and read your fundamentalist perspective into it great theology is bound to happen.
Since we’re ripping random verses out of the Bible, why not keep this one in mind while you watch the video below: “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son….”
So apparently if you’re a fundamentalist Christian and you want a “relevant” way to communicate your message you turn to computer animation. We saw it in abundance yesterday with the prophecy videos and we see it again today for Fundie Friday.
This time we’re learning about “evilution”. That’s not a typo, at least not on my part. That’s how they spell it in the video.
As all “good” creationist presentations go this one begins with the premise that evolutionary theory is intrinsically evil. Then a bunch of scientific facts are “debunked”, not by opposing “facts” but rhetoric. This video in particular doen’t even bother to venture into the world of pseud0-science. It just declares that thingslike radio carbon dating aren’t true. Or my personal favorite: if you believe we evolved from apes then you have to believe we also evolved from rocks.
Apparently all you need to do anymore is declare that something is or isn’t true and it is. No need to back your statements up with messy things like “facts” and “evidence”. At least that’s what I’ve learned from TV and the internet.
The video ends as all good scientific discussions do with a salvation pitch.
As many of us head off to Christmas Eve services to hear the good news of the birth of our Lord, we wanted to use this Fundie Friday to “balance out” the Christmas message and provide you with “the truth [about Christmas] your pastor won’t tell you.”
And it’s in HD!
This won’t come as a surprise to our fundamentalist friends, but apparently Santa is actually Satan and Christmas is a pagan satanic holiday because it’s not in the Bible.
FUN FACT: Making videos for YouTube isn’t in the Bible either.
